We have decided to set up a new vessel in charter. Specifically, ARTEMIS, a 2022 Lagoon 46, is coming out of the Lagoon yard in Les Sables D’Olonne, France in early November. She will be delivered in December to her new home port in the BVI. She will be ready for charter there in Feb 2023.
Side note: she is booking up quickly, and if you were hoping for a week or two on charter with her in her first year all I can say is move fast, as there are only a few weeks left before the new season starts in October/November 2023. (Click here to book ARTEMIS or see her booking information)
We have experienced this charter boat ownership process once before, with a Lagoon 450 named ARIADNE. She was part of the TMM Yacht Charter fleet from 2016 to 2020. We had a great experience with TMM despite some minor setbacks to the Charter Sailing business during that time…. You know, ‘minor setbacks’ like Hurricane Irma devastating the BVI in 2017 and then COVID-19 devastating the travel and tourism industry generally in 2020. So, yeah, despite that, we have decided to get into this business again. Here’s hoping for a slightly different experience in terms of the business environment. I am sure we will have an equally positive experience with TMM.
I wrote a blog from time to time on my experience with our last boat. I plan to do the same again with this one. Check back here from time to time to hear about our progress, ups and downs of the life of a charter owner, and general observations of a pastime that my family and I get a great deal of pleasure from.
Fair Winds!
